The Peace Marathon

Run for PeaceNone of us will ever understand why the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings happened, but we can run and walk forward – showing our support for those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

Register for the 2013 Peace Marathon (virtual) and run, walk or waddle 26.2 miles in a day, a week or a month to raise funds for the One Step Ahead Foundation who are providing prosthetics, rehabilitation and support for the children affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

Here is how it works:cap

  1. Register for The Peace Virtual Marathon below (registration costs $15).
  2. 100% of the proceeds will be given to the One Step Ahead Foundation for the children affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.
  3. If you donate $50 or more you’ll receive a limited edition Peace Marathon running  hat.
  4. Anytime between April 29 – May 31, 2013 complete a total of 26.2 miles of running or walking. This can be done all at once (a marathon), over several short training runs in a week or races during the month (ie, two half marathons, or 5K’s 10K’s) or one mile per day.  Run, walk or waddle, the goal is to cover 26.2 miles in total between April 29th and May 31st.
  5. Once registered, post your miles on the Peace Marathon Facebook page here.  Prizes will be awarded for best photos and most creative ways to honor Boston on the run.BIB NUMBER  If you want a simple way to keep track of your miles, download and print this handy-dandy tracking sheet here created by Mary-thon (thank you).
  6. Download the Peace Marathon Bib here and post or wear as you log your 26.2 miles.
  7. Create a peaceful movement with every stride and share this with your family and friends. #runforpeace
